Hi! New to the board. We have 3 ball pythons:
Verdi (my son's -about 3 years old) Kaasha (mine - about 2 years old) Medusa (my husband's - unsure about the age. We rescued her. Some idiot abandoned her in the middle of the street in December. She almost froze to death.) We think Medusa is a female and Verdi is a male as they set world records for mating. But I thought Kaasha was female til I saw her and Medusa mating. My husband swore he saw Kaasha and Verdi mating but I never have so we aren't sure on that one.

We'll have to take ya'll up on that next Saturday. I think we may be completely mistaken on the sexes. I had read somewhere that the males use their spurs to "tickle" the female; even supposed to look like a finger when it does it. Well Medusa is "tickling" Kaasha. So I think Medusa may be male which would mean Verdi is a female! Wow, if that's the case we'll have to rename them! That makes the most sense since we've seen them paired up as: Medusa-Kaasha and Medusa-Verdi. Confusing! As long as we get some babies I don't care which one gets pregnant!

Well, we had it mostly wrong. Medusa is still female. But Verdi (who we thought was a male) is female. And Kaa (formerly Kaasha since we had thought it was female) is male. But Medusa and Verdi have been locking tails a lot. Kaa had done a little locking but he is less than 2 years old so maybe that it why. Has anyone else ever had same sex "mating"?

Well I am beginin to think the same thing. I thought I had a male and female , even thought I saw some action but, nothin yet. I should take them and have them checked for gender.
I not really sure how long it will take for the female to give birth either, I know I get live babies, not eggs.
Good luck with your pythons. If we ever get babies maybe we can trade one for one.
