Many Thanks to Tim and Deb for another great Expo!! I had a blast. Lots of vendors with really great healthy looking reptiles! I was very impressed at the selection and quality available. I had a hard time avoiding the Fass Farms table because he had some of the most beautiful Red Tegus and I wanted one!!! He also breeds Sulcata's and had some cute little babies. If you willing to make the commitment, Mark Fass is the guy to call for one of these cute little to be giant beauties, he doesn't have a website on his card but his number is 512.868.2029 if your in the market.
I had a wonderful time volunteering for Gina's heart of gold reptile rescue and the Austin Herp society. I had a prearranged adoption from Gina for a bearded Dragon and we where sitting across from Lynns Bearded Dragons, well, let me tell you, she is the lady to talk to!!! She was so kind to look at my new fellow, give me free care advise and one of her own care-sheets. It impresses me alot when a breeder takes time to help educate instead of just selling. It shows a true devotion to the reptile that they breed and those are the type of people I will go to if I have money to spend. Because she was next to where I was sitting, I had alot of time to listen to her and watch her little beardies. I would recommend her for your beardie needs www.LynnsBeardedDragons.com
The Austin Herp Society had one heck of a raffle going this time, since I was there for the whole weekend, I sure got my money worth for the raffle tickets...I won one of those new Zoo Med Terrariums and lots of other reptile supplies! I really think these New Zoo Med Terrariums will replace the Exo Terra, they seem to be a much needed upgrade. Thomas Davis from Houston won a large wall size arboreal habitat, A girl named Tiki from San Marcos won a fantastic Arizona Herp Package and there where just tons of other supplies and prizes donated by Vendors and Zoo Med!
I met lots of new friends and had a great time, I got the privilege of going to the private vendors party which was an awesome chance to get to talk with some of these really remarkable breeders. If your a breeder, contact Tim Cole about joining the Expo. www.austinreptileservice.net/
In Closing Thank you Tim and Deb for all your Hospitality and one of the best weekends I have had all year ( or atleast since the last time I went to one of your events)!
BTW, Welcome to the new Members that signed up for the Austin Herp Society if your on our Texas list! I know we signed a few up! You don't have to live in Austin to be a member and membership has it's privileges *winks* LOL!
