Hey everyone. I am finally moving out of my parents house, and in with my girlfriend in May, after this semester at U of H. We are both college students, and going to be on a very tight budget and I am sadly going to have to find a new place for my two female beardies. We're having a tough time trying to find apartments where we want that will except reptiles, and we are worried our electric bill will be way too high. Also, we won't have the space to keep them either in there. I have had one (pretty standard color) since I was in 8th grade, and very attached to her, but I am running out of options at this point. She is very loving and never threatening towards people and is spoiled in a nice 90 gallon tank.
My other is a little yellowish/orange depending on her mood, but she is much more moody. I only got her a few years ago and never spent the time with her as I did with my first one, so she isn't too thrilled about being taken out of her cage. She is fine once I get her out (I usually wear gloves to take her out) but she seems to get very defense while I am trying to get her out. I am pretty certain she will be fine if someone handles her a lot more, but every since college started for me, I haven't really payed near the attention to them as I should have. She is in a 60 gallon tank. She's very active though in the cage and is also interested in what's going on around the room.
So... I would really like to find someone in Houston that I can bring them to, and give them a nice and loving home. I do have them in separate tanks (as these two should be) and I will sell them with the tanks for really cheap. I also will give the dome light and strip light fixtures as well. I am not really looking to really make much money, but a little would be nice. If it comes too close to May and I have not found anyone, I will probably end up offering them with the tanks and all for free if I know they are going to a good home. However, a little money to pay for the tanks I payed for/gas for delivering them would be nice and reasonable to me for asking. I have no clue how much they sell for, but I am more concerned about them having a good home. I can sell them to two different people, but I would prefer to sell to the same home.
I can send photos if anyone is interested, but I am just curious if there is anyone out there that would even consider it. I still have a few months, so I am not in a big rush, but I am not sure what I'll end up doing if I can't find them a new home.
Well, please reply to this if you're interested and I'd be glad to answer any of your questions. Also, if interested, please give me a ball park figure on how much you would pay for them, if at all (which doesn't mean I won't consider it) and please let me know if you already know how to care for them. The care for them is the most important thing to me.
Thanks for your time,
Matt
