I almost forget to mention this!!! I got my first egg. I put it in the hatching stuff on a top shelf in my reptile room. I also put a temp gange in the tubberware tub keeping the temp around 85 and lower at night. Any suggestions??? Is there anyway to tell if an egg is good or bad??
Thanks

Good for you, I wish I could get my snakes to go at it. I hope thing work for ya. With Chicken eggs we hold a small flashlight up to them to look for veins.

same applies with the flashlight in this case, your looking for a dark spot in the inner fluid. If its the first time shes hatched eggs its more than likely not going to be fertile. Most times they are prone to lay non-fertilized eggs for the first two seasons, Not to discourage you though. Only advise is to make sure not to handle it much if at all. Keep it warm. I personally would have left it in the cage if it was at all burried

Actually, it was in the same corner has their defecation spot. She has only layed this one, but I am not sure if she has ever layed in the past, I am not her first owner, she came to us about 3 or 4 years old. I put the egg in the top shelf in my reptile room in some hatching material, but the egg is starting to turn brown, I am thinking it's not any good. I was very careful to remove the egg without turning it. This is my first egg, so I really don't have high hopes.
