Hello, my name is Randy Mann. Due to an unfortunate oversight on my behalf, I named my show Lone Star! I have apologized to Mr. Randal Berry and hope everyone else will accept my apology. I wasn't intending to cause a problem, just thought it was a good name and didn't know it was taken! As a result I will be changing the name of my show after I do some research so I don't step on any-body's toes again.
Any Ideas?
I'm hoping LadyViper won't delete this. As I told Mr. Berry, I'm just trying to fit in!
Thanks, Randy thesnakemann

Mr Mann
Thank you for changing the name..There are only 5 Reptile Shows in Texas and I think it would be confusing to vendors and the general public..
I am sure that Otis and Meleah Pierce of the Lone Star Reptile Expos will greatly appreciate you changing your show name.

After I had contacted Mr. Mann, (regarding his upcoming shows), he replied that he had seen negative posts on Fauna's BOI regarding his upcoming shows in the Houston area. I assured him that I or my wife haven't posted anything negative about his shows. He forwarded the post to me and I told him that Lynn Hendricks had posted that on the BOI and that we didn't. Lynn's Bearded Dragons were a past vendor at our shows, (Texas Reptiles), and are no longer associated with our shows. We sold our Arlington Show to Otis and Meleah Pierce earlier this year, and they (Otis and Meleah) named THEIR show, DFW Lone Star Reptile Expos. Mr. Mann has been very nice and has agreed to change his name of his shows to avoid confusion of the DFW shows. We continue to put on shows in San Antonio and next year we will promote shows in Houston as well. We hope this clears up any confusion and look forward to seeing all of you at our San Antonio Expo November 3-4 and next year in Houston! Thank you! Randal Berry www.Texasreptiles.com

I did not know I was no longer associated with your show.. I put what I did out there UNDER my name and no one Else's.. I Contacted Mr Mann about the show then about the name..I heard back about the show and not the name . That is why I went to the forums.. I did not post on the BOI

My apologies to Lynn. She is correct, she did not post on the BOI, she posted on Fauna, which has the BOI (Board of Inquiry) as a forum.
What I meant by Lynn's Bearded Dragons not associated with our show, was she no longer vends at our show. That is her choice.
Sincerely,
Randal Berry

It is been called to my attention that someone else is using this name in the Houston area by changing one word. This is wrong...It could happen to any of us . Do not let this happen. Voice your opinions. How would you like it if someone came along and used your name changing one word. Here is my thoughts. Please DO NOT confuse this show with the original (D/FW) Lone Star Reptile Expo in Arlington.... www.dfwlonestarreptileexpos.com/This show is a well established show..It was bought last year and before that was running for 11 years. Click on the link and see the vendors for the show Sept 15th and 16th. www.dfwlonestarreptileexpos.com/Please do not get this mixed up with a show that has not even happened yet. I can not and will not support a show that is trying to purposely confuse the public by using a established shows name One word difference How original can you get.....Shame shame Shame..

So is there going to be a Reptile Show here in Houston???
I know about the 6 hour show put on by ETHS, but that is only once a year.
Houston is a big city, and it seems to me that we should have more than one show a year.
So, are there really some "new" Houston shows to go to??

That show was going to be in Rosenberg, never houston and I believe it's cancelled. I talked to the guy and he was going to use the vendors from traders village, which If you ever went there, all the reptile displays made me sick, I found nothing but diseased, sick and abused reptiles at traders village. One reptile flea market in Houston is one too many for me.
I do recommend the upcoming Austin Expo this weekend, I know it's a drive but it's worth it. Talking to the real breeders vs. the middle man resaler or reptile pirate is much better.
There is a reptile show once a month in Texas if you like the fun of road trips.
ETHS puts on the expo the whole weekend with classes and workshops if your interested, the only selling day for vendors is on sunday.
Texas Reptiles is going to start another show in the Houston area I think.

As for driving to Austin, well that just too far for me. I do have family in San Antonio, so in the past I have combined a Family Trip/Reptile Show Trip. Otherwise 6 hours of driving (round trip)and $50-$60 for gas would be too much. I hope Texas Reptiles is going to have a Houston show. I know that their web page says that a Houston Show is coming soon, but When??? I had heard Summer 07, then Fall 07, and now 2008.

Hey, if you ever want to car pool. Join the Texas reptile yahoo group, we do carpools all the time. San Antonio is a great show, but the one in Austin and the one in Arlington are great too. Then there's the NARBC in Feb. in Arlington that really is the largest Reptile expo in Texas.
Famous Vendors and presentors from all over the world are at that one.

I did join the Yahoo reptile group, I just need to check it more often.
And I am interested in seeing the NARBC show. I have never been to one. As it gets closer to that time I will ask about Car Pooling.
Thanks.
