I was reading a thread on another group and was curious what others thought about keeping Hots. My answer is "a hobby" the reason I chose that answer is because the venomous part of our collection is not treated like a pet. They are well respected and properly cared for and we enjoy looking at them. My husband thinks of them has pets, what do you think?

I'd have to say that, while I don't "pet" them, I do feel a certain attachment to some of them. SInce the poll wouldn't allow me to pick all of them, I chose the one that I felt suits me best on my favorites. Since the king cobra is known for it's intelligence and ability to develop, at the very least, recognition of it's keeper, maybe things will reach a higher level with the neonate I'm raising.

My vote goes toward hobby. A pet is a dog, cat, cornsnake ect...
Anything that has the abilitly to kill you, be it a rattlesnake, mamba, cobra, lion, ect... Is keep purely as a hobby and love for the species...

I am absolutely in love with each and every venomous snake I have ever seen. Absolutely LOVE every hot snake. They are indeed my favorite, and I do respect the potential danger that looms wherever venomous snakes are kept.
