I have never found anything while looking for them.
The closest I've come to herping is when I was stationed at the north end of Brazoria County and came across a a Hognose snake while driving through a oilfield road, which apparently found himself quite comfortable sunning in the middle fo the road.
It was really kewl watching him go through his Cobra/Playing dead phase.
After he finished hissing up at me, he started the playing dead roll(which I had NEVER seen in real life!) After he'd stop, about 20 seconds later he would pick his head up and look and go "OH CRAP" and go through the entire dying act again! Haha.
I picked him up(And his musk gland was quite functional!) and carried him a good 1/2 mile off the road in the way he was facing and got him out of harms way.

Venomous snakes are my passion! They look incredible, I LOVE their personality. They are just amazing. Yea I would love to attend some sort of herping adventure, I'm used to trompin' through the swamps or wherever after cottonmouths and whatnot. We found 2 VERY young copperheads about a week ago under a log, They are beautiful.

Yea that was a little dumb of me , but I felt extremely comfortable with that particular snake. She never showed the slightest bit of aggression, but thats when you usually get tagged. I know it would have been my fault if I would have been bitten, and I don't recommend handling them without proper tools.

I'm sorry, you look like your 12 years old, show irresponsibility in handling HOTs by free handing a coral snake, and who knows what else and you never recommend doing the same??

....he's 19, probably 18 in that pic haha. i think that everyone takes risks when it comes to herping. i'd say 12 years in the hoppy and never being bit by anything venomous means you make some pretty responsible decisions. i also think that most people who have been herping for a while can think back on a situation and say "mannn i'm lucky i didn't get bit that time" and maybe this is one of those times for him. right?

It's ok, GBcop doesnt bother me at all. After all, if he's a cop, then theres the whole reason why he's such a sour person. I have never come close to being bitten, which probably means I'm pretty darn good at it! He's just jealous he can't find any
