Hello All,
I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am currently residing in El Paso. I run a herp breeding and acquisition business here called Ocotillo Herpetofauna and Invertebrates. I am married to Sharon and have a 12 year old son named Connor. I keep snakes mostly. I am working with locality kings, milks, gophers, pines, hognose, garters, rats, rattlesnakes and copperheads.
I have an AS degree in Zoo Animal Technology, a BS degree in Wildlife Science and I am about to complete my MS in Environmental Policy and Management. I am the former head of the Herp Department at the Central Florida Zoo. I have been doing herp and wildlife research for the past 5 years.
My current interests include herp laws and regulations, rights of the private herp keeper and critiquing academic research by identifying biases and agendas (not to mention lies and other half truths).
Nice to meet you,
Mike Welker El Paso, TX
