Hi guys! I am fairly new to the world of snakes! Just adopted a ball python from a guy that was just not taking care of him. He is about 2 1/2 years old, and a little over 4ft. long. VERY skittish!!! I have been bitten SEVERAL times!! I'm hoping with time, and handling, he'll come around!

I don't think he has always been this agressive. My friend said back when he cared about him he held him quite a bit a was never bitten. I'm thinking now he has gone into defense mode or something from being mistreated. Guess it will take him a while to come back around.... I'm just being patient!... AND WEARING GLOVES!!!! My hands hurt!

Hey Tori!
Did you bring you new ball python home yet? How's everything going on this. DO you have any more questions?

LOL I was actually JUST ogging in to write about him! Yes he is home, and VEEERY happy in his new home! There have been no more bites.... or signs that he even wants to bite. I have had him out alot since Friday handling him. He's AWESOME!!!! My son (3) has named him "Sir Hiss" from the Robin Hood cartoon! LOL He shed his skin lastnight so this morning I woke up and looked in to a new, beautifully colored python! I plan on feeding him this evening. But yeah...all is GREAT!

Fed my little guy last night. Man he eats VERY good. I do have a question though.... About how long would you say I should wait before handling him again?? LOL My boyfriend says I am "babying" him...whats wrong with that?!?! HA! I hold him and let him out ALOT, so just wondering how long you think I should wait. I have heard anywhere from 3 days to 2weeks!!!.. from just asking around... but everyone here seems to know a little more about what they're talking about... So I'm asking!

yeah i rescued a ball like 3 weeks ago. he is a beautiful light patterned snake but he was burned by a heat rock. when he sheds i have to let him soak for a lil while so all the shed will come off. but anyways the other night i felt something rub on my side and thought it was my dog so i went back 2 sleep, and when i woke up it was kahn and he was just chilln next to me. i thought it was funny but went and got some lid clamps. lol
