Hi... I am also new as of today. I love all animals but have a real passion for snakes. Most of my snake collection consists of Ball Pythons, but there are a few BCI's in there, as well as a Borneo STP. Look forward to being a part of a fun local forum.

Welcome aboard! You have some really cute baby ball pythons for sale. We have a pound hound and a very old barfamatic kitty and lots of snakes but I also enjoy my lizards and tortoises too. We have a fun local group and will be haveing some get togethers and seminars with special guest speakers next year. We are a new group and growing everyday.

Looks like new members are just adding to this thread? Hope so, still getting used to this board format. In that case, I'll give a quick Howdy and introduce myself. My name is Denise, and between my son and I we have snakes, a beardie, pyxie frog, and more tarantulas, scorpions, spiders, and centipedes than I care to count! LOL I like the idea of the Houston area board and hope to get to know y'all better!

Denise,
Yep I had no idea, looks like this thread is a winner, glad your joining us. I have dumerils boas and maybe I'll have a dang turtle if my granddaughter has anything to do with it. I'm stalling cuz I'll get stuck with it. What kinda snakes do ya have?

Thanks herpalot!
I just downsized quite a bit on the snakes. Right now I only have a few balls, couple of corns, a false water cobra, a little brown snake (dekayi, though not a local ssp.), a black rat, and a pygmy rattlesnake.
Turtles are one of the most time consuming herps you can keep with specific needs; hope you're prepared! LOl

Welcome Denise! It's always nice to have more keepers of hots. The first venomous snake I ever caught was a Sistrurus miliarius barbouri (Florida Pygmy Rattler). I sold it to a snake farm that housed them and collected venom for production of antivenin. Drop by the "The Hot Room" and say hi. Have you checked out our gallery on the main site? Anyway, just wanted to say hi and welcome. Now Pam won't be the only female hot snake enthusiast here. Oh...and there are some bug nuts hiding in here, too. LOL

I been asking about turtles, but people don't seem to know much about them. I might catch her one next spring on my property, let her feed and play with it and then return it LOL!

LOL Thanks Viper; barbouri is what this little fellow is. I'll stop by the hot thread and check it out for sure! As for bug nuts, I'm actually pretty phobic; it's my son who's the freak!

Hi all, I just joined the board this morning. I live south of Houston and have reptiles and other critters. I returned to keeping reptiles a few years ago after raising my sons and I am enjoying them, particularly the lizards. I think it is wonderful to have a local group here in Houston. I hope to meet y'all sometime, I'm sorry I missed yesterday's gathering but my Dad just got out of the hospital and I was sticking close to home just in case (he's in New York). Thank you Lord and Lady Viper, this is a great idea
